Ms. Yu has extensive experience representing clients with various tax and governance matters, including grant making, conflict of interest transactions, unrelated business income tax, property tax, and employment and intellectual property issues. Before joining For Purpose Law Group, Geena worked at a large San Francisco based law firm, where she provided comprehensive legal support to tax-exempt organizations. Prior to that, she was a Senior Associate at KPMG LLP, advising private equity and corporate clients on buy-side transactions, identifying tax risk factors, and developing tax-efficient transaction structures. Additionally, Geena held Vice President roles at MUFG Union Bank, focusing on global trust services and contractual negotiations, and provided pro bono services at the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, Justice and Diversity Center, assisting low-income taxpayers with IRS tax relief and drafting essential legal documents.
