Firm Background
Established in early 2012, FPLG began primarily as an effort to address a huge, unmet need for experienced, proactive legal counsel within the nonprofit sector. Over the past decade, FPLG’s reputation has grown, with the firm now recognized as the “go to” legal resource for nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and charitably inclined families.
Our Firm Milestones
For Purpose Law Group began when three graduates of the Nonprofit Leadership & Management Masters program at the University of San Diego joined together to provide legal, strategic and operational expertise to nonprofit organizations throughout San Diego county.

Corporate Social Responsibility
FPLG doesn’t exist in a vacuum; we recognize that the firm is part of an interrelated system of people, culture, values and organizations. As such, FPLG consistently strives to make decisions based on enhancing and contributing to the well-being of our employees, our clients, and our communities. In 2021, FPLG established the For Purpose Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide scholarships and other educational support for native, first nation students.
Community Involvement
As part of our corporate social responsibility, we welcome opportunities to volunteer our time, contribute our expertise, and demonstrate our support. Each year, the firm participates in various fundraising endeavors on behalf of our clients, including running in 5Ks, sponsoring lemonade stands, or contributing financially to the causes our employees believe in.
