Linda J. Rosenthal, JD
At For Purpose Law Group, Linda Rosenthal serves as Director of Information & Research, where she utilizes her extensive knowledge of the nonprofit legal field to inform, and educate.
While studying at the George Washington University Law School, she was a law clerk at the United States Tax Court. After graduating in 1977, she worked in the Exempt Organizations Division of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.
After this 4-year stint, Linda was an associate in a business and tax law firm, and then a sole practitioner.
By the late ’80s, she turned her focus exclusively to her favorite aspects of law: research and writing. Since then, she has helped lawyers and law firms with litigation and transactional drafting — across a broad range of civil practice areas, including nonprofit organization law. She has also tutored law students and coached paralegals and lawyers in research and writing skills.
Linda brings her extensive experience back to the nonprofit sector by providing informational blog posts and social media engagement at For Purpose Law Group. She focuses her attention on the firm’s efforts to educate clients and the general public about nonprofit law and social enterprises. Her plain-English insights for FPLG fill a need for user-friendly and appealing explanations of complex concepts and issues.
